just updating

well, i realized that its been like 9 months since ive last updated my blog so hear we go. Dominick is growing into a little man so fast i cant believe my eyes. He is catching on to so many things that we do, he knows how to do thumbs up but its so funny because when he sticks his thumb up he actually lunges at you or anything else really. We just found out today that he found out that he could take his little chair into the kitchen and open up the drawers and take things out of the them lol. he is talking like crazy everything is "i got it" and "thas" which means "thanks" in our language. he is loving football season with daddy on sundays they play football all day on sunday, they start off throwing the football or "buball" as he calls it back and forth and by the end of the day they are both just pretty much grabbing anything they can get their hands on and throwing it so you can just imagine what my apartment looks like by sunday night.
he loves his fridays at nonni and pops when we are there most of the day because its poker night so he plays with Sophia most of the time and with "Bop" and nonni but what he looks forward to the most is going back home at night to see dada and play a few hands of poker with the guys lol. They have taught him how to throw the chips in when they say all in but the best is when he says "Nuhnight" to the guys all of the men in there 40s and 50s say "Night Night Dom" its so funny.
This little tiny boy keeps us laughing so hard day in and day out that every single day just when you think it isnt possible to love someone more you do. I knew being a mom was gonna be awarding and all kinds of fun but i never realized how great it actually is. All the bad nights when i got no sleep at night and even his little temper tantrums (actually there not so little he throws some serious tantrums) it makes it all worth it when i look at him, and when he just walks up to me and gives me a kiss he makes my heart melt.
oh he also loves watching jeopardy actually he could be in any room and when the pennsylvania lottery song comes on he comes running in the room turns and stares at the tv and says "OOOHHH WHASAT" than when jeopardy comes on he shakes his head no when they say what the catagories are and claps with the daily double lol. well i think thats all for now im gonaa try to keep up on this more.

playdate

well today Dominick had his first playdate with Sophia, Charlotte, and Olivia. he had so much fun with them even though he was the only boy lol. other than him falling and getting a scrape on his eye he absolutely loved playing in the car that they have now i guess we gotta get him one lol. I really hope we can do it again atleast once a month so they can all know eachother when we have gatherings. and i also want Dom to get used to playing with kids he had a tendency today to go off on his own a few times which maybe because the girls were doing there girly things at times but i dont want him doing that when he gets older. Would you believe that the picture freaks that we all are i only took like 5 pictures and noone else took any lol. (oops) i really enjoyed our mommy time i didnt realize how much i need that and it actually helps with questions i could have about raising Dominick. Also to find out that im not the only one dealing with certain issues with the baby such as temper tantrums...im so happy that they got to see Dom's evil side lol nobody believes me when i say he throws tantrums even though they werent that bad today he still grabbed her remotecontrol and threw it halfway across the room (sorry Corinne) im convinced now that he has his tantrums because hes bored. Dom took his first nap in the car today since hes been in the carseat that sits forward thats howwiped out he was. thanks again girls for today i had a blast! looking forward to next time

catching up

its been a very long time since ive been on here and so much has been going on with Dominick. well, hes been on a few playdates with Sophia and he loves there play time on the swings or our nature walks lol. he is completely on table food now however, he doesnt like eating by himself or whats on his plate he really only wants whats on mommy's plate or his Nonni's plate. hes getting around so good now walking everywhere and getting into everything especially all of Pops important papers lol. Dom is also trying to learn how to walk up the steps but his legs are a little to short for them so he has a little hard time lol.

we were supposed to have an awesome playdate with Tiff, Sophia, Corinne, Liv, and Cahrlotte today but Dom isnt feeling to good at first i thought it was just his teeth he had a runny nose the past few days but it was clear and he was acting fine so thats why i thought i was his teeth than yesterday he came up with a 100.8 fever and his nose started running not clear stuff lol. so i decided to cancel as much as i didnt want to but i didnt want him getting one of the other girls sick if he does have a virus so hopefully next wednesday we can play.

first playdate with Sophia

even though yesterday wasnt as nice as tuesday was a nice enough day for Dominick to take his first trip to the park with his cousin Sophia. He had sooo much fun just hangin out on the swings with her and staring at eachother and having their little conversations while eating the cookie that Sophia was nice enough to share with him. They literally just sat in the swings for almost 2 hours while Tiff and I just talked and laughed at them. Of course we both forgot our cameras i did take a few pics on my phone but i cant get them on the computer so hopefully if we get together next week we will both remember our cameras lol. i know Dominick needed to have a playdate with Sophia because all he does is sit at home and play by himself with his toys and we always feel so bad for him because he looks so lonely plus we dont want him to end up being that brat kid that doesnt share any of his toys or is just mean to everyone so were trying to bring him around as many kids as we can so he can get used to being a nice unselfish little boy(which is how he is totally acting now lol) Besides Mommy needs to have playdates too so i can stay sane.

getting so big

well its been a while so ill try to catch you up on what Dom has been up to. He is doing very well with his walking he walks all over the place now, we play this game...i lay on the floor or the couch with my teddy (yes i still use teddy) and he comes up and grabs him than turns around and runs away screaming while i chase him its so cute lol. but while he has his very cute moments he is now also getting a very bad temper on him. When he is told No! he does a few things...stand on his tippy toes balls his fists and screams at the top of his lungs (which is hilarious), after he gets mad he will hit something and yell than turn around and look at us to see our reaction, and his newest thing is he is now hitting himself in the head, i dont know what thats about but he just started doing it. Dominick also has started throwing his little tantrums also mainly when he is getting his diaper changed but man this is gonna be very very rough lol.

Dominick is doing very well with eating table food also, i know hes supposed to be on complete table food now but with him teething sometimes he just doesnt want to chew the food so weve been doing half table food and half baby food. As for table food he likes peanut butter and jelly samdwiches (but i also have to sing the peanut butterjellytime song lol), eggs, chicken, french fries, hot dogs, rice, chicken nuggets, donuts, goldfish, and he will try whatever i am eating.

he kissed me!

So until recently Dominick has not done "kisses" well 2 weeks ago i was watching his niece Ashlyn at my moms and as im changing her he just goes over to her head and kisses her! i was so shocked because he hasnt wanted anything to do with kissing anyone. Well about a week later his cousin Diana (Johns niece) was watching him and i get a text saying that he just went up and kissed her! Now this is still at the time when he doesnt want to kiss me or John. Yesterday afternoon John and Dom were wrestling on the floor and John was pretending Dom knocked him out and all the sudden you see Dom go over and give him kisses (it was so cute) so i get down on the floor and wait to see if he will do it to me well i waited a very long time! I tried saying give mommy kisses and he would either smack me or turn away from me. Well last night after hours of us nagging him and saying that mommy would be very sad if she didnt get kisses from him he just bent down and kissed me! i was so happy i kinda started crying...i was starting to feel like he didnt want to kiss me lol.

He now has 8 teeth 2 just came through this week and another 2 or so are working there way through very very slowly so again back to waking up in the middle of the nights screaming our heads off and not often are we happy campers over here lol. I feel so bad because we get in our moods not knowing what to do for him but he is going through so much pain we have no right getting like that.

Dominick is also getting better at walking he takes a lot more steps now than before and he is getting so good at walking behind his walking toys but he looks so funny at the same time. were also saying the alphabet and colors and numbers a lot more than before because it sounds like he is trying to say what we say and he knows what things are so instead of just saying "ball" we say "blue ball" or something like that i realize that he wont catch on to all of that right now but cant i just try to think i can make him a genius lol?

the happiest and scariest moments of my life!

I dont even know where to begin...well Dom's first christmas was very nice we had our families over xmas night for dinner and to do gifts than they all came back over the next day for Dom's bday. He made out so good with all of his toys he still cant figure out which ones he wants to play with. New years was good my mom ended up taking Dom overnight and John and I thought we may go out but instead we stayed in like an old married couple and played board games with a few drinks counting down the minutes til midnight lol. once midnight game it was lights out! Apparently my days of staying up til 3 or 4 on hew years is over because the first thought that went through my head when my mom asked to take Dom was "Nice! now we can go to bed early and sleep in late lol"

So he is now eating more table foods he likes hot dogs and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chicken nuggets. I also had my scariest day of my entire life on sunday...Dom and I were in my bedroom putting away clothes and yes i know you always have to watch the baby but i guess when i turned my back to hang up the shirts he put something in his mouth and i didnt know well about 10 minutes later we were sitting on my bed watching a lifetime movie when i had noticed something small but white in his mouth so i go to scoop it out and because he hates it when people try to take things out of his mouth he fought me on it and inhaled it! well it got stcuk in his throat apparently, i thought for a second he was doing this crying thing when he holds his breath so i started walking ot towards the living room with him where John was when all of a sudden i noticed that his lips were going blue and his eyes rolled in the back of his head! I hate even talking about it now but he was just lifeless in my arms so i ran to the couch yelling Johns name and by the time we got to John he must have swallowed it (thank god) and he started breathing again. Meanwhile John had to wait like a half hour after this all happened til i could get myself together again to find out what had happened. So I called the doctor yesterday and when he called back he said to bring him in on monday so he could just check him out and thank god everything is completely fine with him. I realized just yesterday how fast someone can almost be taken away and it was the scariest feeling i have ever had in my entire life i hope nobody ever has to go through that EVER!!!!!

hes growing up so fast

well as you all may know Dominick will be 1 on saturday. And even though i should be very excited im actually kind of upset. I dont want him to grow up and i think its because im afraid as he gets older he wont want/need me as much anymore and im afraid for that to happen. He has changed my life so much and i cant picture life without him as hard as it may get sometimes i still cant imagine him not wanting or needing me every second of the day.

Anyway hes all ready for santa to come on thursday night actually i think we are more than he is lol. We started christmas shopping on friday ( yes we wait til the last minute) and we had so much fun playing with all the little toys that we got him. We were like little kids all over again lol. So we just cant wait for him to wake up on christmas morning and go to the tree and open his gifts. Its gonna be a very busy week I have work everyday including xmas eve than on xmas were having his family and my family over for dinner and gifts (we decided to have dinner at our house because it would be too much to travel all over with him that day) and the next day is the big day! My cousin Christine is supposed to come down from Boston for his bday so im so excited!!!!!

As for the things he does now... he has been eating a lot more now, he eats chicken, eggs, spaghetti, burgers and pretty much anything anyone else is eating he wants and will eat lol. he started tickling himself the other day lol its so cute when im changing him he tickles his fingers on his stomach and says "tickatickaticka" i love it! he makes some hilarious sounds and faces that we finally caught on video so as soon as i figure out how to do it they will be on here. Oh and he loves the show "Reba" actually he just loves the song in the beginning lol. As soon as it comes on he throws his toys down gets a huge smile on his face and dances and claps lol. Well ill check back after his birthday and let everyone know how it goes have a merry christmas and a happy new year!

well its been a long time since ive been able to let you all know about Dominick. His vocabulary is slowly getting bigger he now says whats that, whos that, momma, dad, and i think he says yay. He waves bye bye now and he has gotten very ticklish. he loves playing peek a boo and screaming and dancing. hes so so cute! He had a very good Thanksgiving, he loved having everyone over and eating some mashed potatoes we didnt have him try any turkey yet i was too scared lol. I am trying to have him try more food but i get very nervous but im getting a lot better he eats eggs, pizza, cheese, cheeseburgers, and chicken nuggets.
He pooped in the bathtub for the first time! it serves me right though because the whole time he was in the tub he was "making bubbles" and laughing at them so of course we were laughing too than all of a sudden we saw something floating lol. So John ran out of the bathroom gagging and left me to clean it up lol.
He yells back and forth with us, when we either yell at him or tell him no and than he yells back at us and it will go on for a long time lol. Well i think thats it for now ill try to keep everyone updated and i will let you all know how his christmas and birthday go.

I do NOT like him being sick

Last night I came home from work and heard Dominick crying through the front door I walk in and Johns sister was watching him and she said he wasnt acting himself last night and he felt pretty warm. So I checked his temperature and he had a 103.9 fever! Well, I lost it! So I forgot where I keep the tylenol and was walking around repeating "what do i do" while all that is going on Dominick is crying "momma" and i still cant remember where the tylenol was. So she calmed me down and i found the tylenol and gave Dom his dose and text John to come home. He came home and Im crying, Dom is crying and Terri is trying to calm both of us down lol. I was ready to go to the hospital but John and Terri convinced me to just wait a few minutes to check his temperature to see if it was going down if it didnt than we would go for sure. Well within 15 minutes his fever went to 101 so i calmed down and just thought maybe its a bug and ill wait til the morning to call the doctor and see what his temp was then. This morning it was 102.6 which is still very high for the morning so i called the doctor and he told me just to keep and eye on his fever today and keep giving him tylenol but dont worry. So I have decided that im going to wait until later today to see how Dom starts acting and see how his fever goes and if it goes back up to what it was last night im going to the hospital for sure. If there is any suggestions im open to any im still very new with this and dont know when i should be panicking or just relax so i pretty much panic all of the time.

Halloween

Halloween was so much fun! Dominick had a blast and he loved going around from door to door and getting candy however, mommy and daddy are now paying for it because all that candy we ate now our teeth are killing us lol. So Dominick has started his hitting stage probably about a month ago but its just recently getting worse up until now we just told him NO! but we decided that now we have to start smacking his hand and say NO! Well, apparently i made him upset when i would smack his hand and he would get the frown face going and start crying, I of course would feel bad and pick him up and apologize but of course at that point is when he would start laughing like haha ive got her right where i want her. Well last night he smacked my face and i smacked his hand his reaction wasnt like it was before he stared at my hand than up at my face than back at my hand and all of a sudden he smacked my hand! I had to turn around because i started laughing but i guess he has figured that out too because than he started laughing. We have a smart one on our hands and we are in for one hell of a ride with this one lol.

Ok so about the sleepness nights, we are oretty sure that we know why it is happening. We are sure the teeth have something to do with it but the fact that they dont hurt him during the day is boggling us so one of the nights around 3:00 am we heard upstairs walking around and making there noises again. Thats when it hit us, they are waking him up! When we first moved here we had this problemwith them making noises all night long but they were only waking up John but we did make a complaint and the neighbors tried telling us that it was the people on the 3rd floor which is ridiculous. After that we decided to keep our mouths closed because we didnt wanna be the pain in the ass new neighbors in the building. Well things are gonna be a lot different now because now they are waking up Dominick and Im not happy at all with that. So now everytime he wakes up in the middle of the night John throws something at the cieling lol its actually kind of funny, and when we pay rent this week we are sending a note in to the office and hopefully something will be said because Dominick cant keep losing his sleep and neither can I.

still no sleep

ok well it has now been a month or so that i am going on with no sleep. He is def getting his days and nights mixed up (apparently its exactly what i did when i was a baby). Im still hoping that its just from his teeth i can tell his 1 year molars are trying to come through his gums are extremely white but for some reason im not totally sure if thats what it is because they dont seem to bother him during the day its only at night. I cant let him cry at night though because when he gets up he is screaming its not just a normal cry so i really dont know what more to do. And yesterday he slept pretty much all day because the night before he was up every hour on the hour and last night he woke up quite a few times. Im getting so tired its unreal lol. However John will be getting laid off soon for the winter and than he will finally get a taste of what i Have been going through these past 10 months, well see if its all a piece of cake then lol. Somehow i still think that ill be getting up at night with the baby but oh well thats all part of being a mom right? (good luck tiff lol)

Well im done my crying for the day so on to the fun stuff! Dominick is growing up so fast and getting his own personality its so cute. Other than being as stubborn as his parents he is becoming such a little man who wants to do things on his own. He is so determined to do or get whatever it may be that he wants which will be a good thing in the future but for now its not so good because the things he is determined to do he is not aloud to be doing lol. He is trying to stand up by himself without using the couch or anything he is almost there but not quite. He does love dancing (just like mommy lol) everytime a commercial comes on with music he starts rocking back and forth and on his see and say he knows that when the animals come on not to dance and when the song is on he dances. He also got thic chicken in an egg from Johns mom for Easter thats sings the chicken song and walks well for a little bit he was scared of it but now he starts off just rocking a little bit than when the song gets faster he starts bouncing really fast lol and when the song is over he knocks the chicken over! Its so cute I think he got that from us because when he was scared of it we would knock it over and say bad chicken so now he just knocks it over! He is also doing a great job at copying whatever we do! I cant believe in 2 months he will be 1 NOOOOOOOO!

why isnt he sleeping EVER!

ok so as you may know Dominick has NOT slept through the night in about 2 weeks at first we thought it was because of his 2 teeth coming in at the same time, but now im starting to think otherwise. He hasnt been going to bed ontime and has been waking up 3 to 4 times a night. like last night he refused to go to bed until midnight and woke up at 2:30, 4:00 and again at 6:00. now obviously i wont give him nyquil but is it wrong to want to just to get more than 4 hours sleep in one night. I am beginning to not be able to function during the day and having to work full time and this its just not getting any easier. If there is any suggestions (CORINNE!) please help me! Im still a rokkie at this and basically have no clue what to do! Im prying that it is just his teeth but something is telling me that he is like me when i was a baby and had my days and nights mixed up.

he broke his mobile!

Yesterday we put Dominick down for his afternoon nap when we still heard him in his room talking and playing so we peaked through the crack in the door and saw him playing with something but we couldnt figure out what it was and how he got it. So we opened the door just a little bit more and saw that he had gotten a hold of his mobile! So we go on into the room and he immediately had this oh crap! look on his face lol. As he was sitting there (still playing with the mobile) we saw that he had literally broke the mobile in half off of the crib! We couldnt help but laugh it was so funny i mean, we know that he is strong but didnt really think he could break the whole thing in half like that i dont even think i could do that lol. Needless to say the mobile is no longer in his room and now we have to buy batteries for the aquarium so he can fall asleep

I now know how my mom felt

I dont know why but Dominick isn't sleeping through the night again! I'm not sure if its his teeth or he just doesnt feel like sleeping now but last night was horrible! He didnt go to bed until 11:00 which is 2 hours later than his bedtime and I didnt fall asleep until 12:30 because i was waiting for John to get home and Dominick woke up at 2:00 a.m. and decided to stay awake until 4:30! And normally when he wakes up in the middle of the night he will sleep in in the morning but not his morning nope he woke back up at 6:30 and has been up ever since! I feel like a total zombie like how my mom always told me she felt when i was little and has my nights and days mixed up.

Dom's first golf cart ride

Dom had his first golf cart ride with John today it was so cute! Dom sat on Johns lap while John just drove around for a little bit than we sat him in between us and drove to the pond and fed the ducks. Dominick had no clue what was going on but we could tell that he loved watching the ducks eat the bread that John was throwing for them.

On another note we decided it was time to start him on stage 3 baby food. He is doing really good with eating the little baby snacks that desolve in your mouth but he instead of letting them just desolve he was chewing them and last night we gave him a banana and mashed potatoes and he loved it! He has been waiting for the day that standing or sitting at the bottom of my feet while i eat would finally pay off and he could have some. But he did really well with the turkey rice dinner that had all kinds of pieces of veggies in it and rice. So i guess he will be eating all of our food of of our plates in no time lol.

Friday night my mom, Dominick and I went to the mall to do some winter clothes shopping for Dom and as were shopping we went into baby gap (thank you Aunt Cheryl) and saw that they are looking for a new model. So as were checking out the lady is talking to Dom and hes flirting with her lol and she hands us this paper and say "make the cute little flirt a model" I was so flattered when she said that. I mean of course every parent thinks there child should become a model but when other people say it, it means so much more. So his picture will be on the website one day this week once i get my moms camera to put a recent picture of him on there and as soon as I do I will post the website so everyone can vote for him lol.
